TREE TRIMMING

Did you know that healthy mature trees can add up to 20% to your property value? Periodic tree trimming is imperative to the health and appearance of a tree throughout its life cycle. It is important to begin trimming a tree when it is young so it can be trained to grow with proper form. There is also an artistic attribute to tree trimming and our trained staff approaches every tree with this in mind. Native Tree Services uses the following pruning procedures to groom and develop a tree:

Crown Maintenance Trimming

We begin by trimming away dead, damaged and diseased wood; sprouts, crossing limbs and parasitic plant life. Additional trimming and styling is done for aesthetics, reduced wind resistance and diffused light. Our staff is expert at applying the proper amount of pruning based on tree species. Don’t trust your trees to a company that cannot fully explain their tree trimming guidelines and procedures. In fact… just call us and we’ll maintain your trees with the professionalism you are looking for.

Crown Elevation Trimming

We remove low and loping limbs to elevate the canopy of a tree. This is done to enhance the aesthetics of a tree or the architectural profile of a home. It also allows for fence, walkway or lot clearance and meeting city specifications over streets and alleyways. Unskilled labor could cause permanent damage to the appearance of your tree by trimming away limbs that were integral to the tree’s natural form. Native Tree professionals know the proper pruning guidelines for elevations relative to tree species.

Shrub Trimming

Each type of shrub requires a different pruning method, but some shrub care tips apply to all shrubs. Damaged or dead branches, overly thick branches, or branches that detract from the look of the shrub should all be pruned. New growth, also known as “suckers” are shoots that grow from the roots or lower stem of a shrub, and should be pruned immediately. At Native Tree, we work to prune deciduous and flowering shrubs. Ideally, these should be pruned just after the final frost of winter. Non-flowering evergreen shrubs can be pruned during any season but fall. Native Tree professionals will work to ensure that your shrubs are maintained in a timely and healthy manner.
